A day filled with warm autumn sunshine ensured that this year’s Primary Welcome Picnic proved to be one of the best yet. The event, now in its fourth year, marked the culmination of a raft of events planned by the PTA Welcome Committee to help new families settle in and give existing parents a chance to reconnect after the summer break.
Over 500 parents and kids set up multi-coloured picnic blankets on the grass behind the Primary building to enjoy an afternoon of fun together. Delicious food was served up by the Novae catering team and great live music came courtesy of the talented La Chat Jazz Ensemble and the amazing Ming & Mark. The ice cream stall remained ever popular with a steady queue all afternoon and the wine flowed!
With plenty of entertainment on tap, kids of all ages raced around, at varying speeds, on roller blades, enjoyed face painting & balloon sculpting and learned new football skills with the expertise of Coerver Coaching.
“It’s just so nice to see the kids gathering together out of school – today they really are seeing the fun side of La Chat” said one Y2 & Y5 parent.
“I’m always impressed with the incredible fun and creative ideas for kids of all ages – these events really seem to create the perfect smile and a real sense of community” added another Y3 parent.
The PTA would like to thank all the Primary Families who supported this year’s picnic and for making it such a wonderful start to the year.
